Course description/details
This module will provide models and theory underpinning change management and innovation to improve a service in health and social care. Topics include resistance to change, service evaluation, creativity, design thinking, stakeholder engagement and leading and managing during change. Emphasis will be on how strategic thinking, data analysis and change will improve the quality of the service - clinical effectiveness, patient safety, experience and outcomes, and value.
Throughout, the learner is expected to undertake independent study both to supplement their learning and to broaden their individual knowledge and understanding of the subject.

A presentation of a change management proposal.
Learning outcomes
- Critically discuss models and methods of change management and innovation and apply that knowledge to service redesign/improvement
- Critically discuss models, theories and tools to lead change management and innovation in health and social care
- Critically apply service improvement, innovation and change management methods to evaluate, plan and discuss implementation of a service improvement
- Critically reflect on their own leadership ability related to change management and innovation in health and social care
