Course Details

The aims of this module are to enable students to develop the knowledge, understanding, clinical and evaluative skills required to support the competent performance of enhanced, advanced or consultant roles within a defined area of radiography practice.

The defined areas of practice should be discussed and agreed with the module or programme lead in advance.
This module is designed around a work-based learning model. Students will integrate theory and practice by critically reflecting on current issues in enhanced, advanced or consultant level radiography practice in their workplace. They will evaluate research evidence to inform diagnosis and patient management decisions while considering the broader professional aspects of enhanced, advanced or consultant practice.

The module requires supervised clinical practice to develop clinical reasoning and justification skills. Students will also complete independent study to complement their workplace learning.

This module is designed for diagnostic radiographers working in or towards enhanced, advanced or consultant practice roles.

A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience is recommended.
